We received this case that included 14 drives in RAID. RAID systems allow for a certain percentage of drives to fail before data is totally lost. The percentage depends on the RAID configuration. To make things more interesting, the drives were shuffled out of their numbered order prior to arriving. We were able to determine the RAID drive order and identify the last drive that failed in what order to recover the most recent data possible. This took a while and the recovery was successful.
